A PERSONS ACCOUNT ON FINDING FIRST EDITION, FIRST STATE OZ BOOKS

The sale these books came from was on a farmstead in the middle of nowhere down washboard gravel roads so bad, I couldn't drive above 10 mph. Even though it was only listed on Craigslist, there were tons of cars lining the road waiting for the sale. They refused to admit anyone before the listed time, just to be fair. They had a huge tent erected behind the farmhouse to house the sale. They told me this was the estate of a spinster relative who lived in the boondocks and they were afraid no one would come to a sale there so they moved everything to their farm. Most everything I saw was trashed or overpriced. I noticed a shed that seemed to be full of junk and when I asked about it, they said that was more stuff from the estate they didn't think was so good. They agreed to let me look through it and I found these books on the bottom of a huge stack of magazines and paperbacks. I took them to the lady selling and she told me those were really nice old books so she would have to have $15 each for them. I knew nothing about Oz books but this seemed to be too good to pass up. Good luck on the remaining books. Ken
