THE START

Larry Shapiro aka Larry the Jet,Homeless man, breaks into abandoned bar, begins selling alcohol

A homeless man allegedly broke into a California bar and served drinks to unsuspecting patrons all weekend -- before police came calling.

The bar, called the Valencia Club, had gone out of business for some time and its liquor license had expired, police said this week.

But the suspect, Larry Shapiro, 70 known asTed Williams on the street and also Larry The Jet, , somehow got into the California establishment in the Penryn area of Sacramento Valley last week. He reopened the bar using beer he bought from a nearby store.

Shapiro allegedly started with a six-pack of beer and used money he received to buy more alcohol.

When questioned why he did this Shapiro, with slurry speech and most of his teeth missing, stated, "I have been through alot since my divorce of 35 years and recently my ex wife and two children came into alot of money and I got nothing but losing my home, business and my liquor collection."

In past, Shapiro has been ticketed for ten DUIs hitting everything from trees to parking meters and shopping carts at walmart.

"I have been drinking since high school and used to drink to every hit Ted Williams and Pet Rose made and it helped with the girls but now I just drink to get over my bad luck and my family has deserted me completely since all three came into a large amount of money from my wifes father who passed away recently" sobbed Shapiro as he was led away in handcuffs to the Los Angeles County Jail.

Picture attached is of Shapiro as seen a week ago passed out on Main Street in Los Angeles and nobody did a thing to inquire or help.

Especially when a car hits me on the freeway at night when I run into the middle of it to get a Penny...

Larry The Jet sobbed during a recent interview and recalled his favorite baseball player Ted Williams of the Boston Red Sox.Ted Williams is his street name.

"He has been my inspiration of life and I used to toast every hit he got with a shot of whiskey so I have to say that if not for Ted Williams, I would never have ended up on the street but as fate woud have it, Im glad I did drink all those hits for this has led to my new fame and fortune and much better stimulants", slurred The Jet.

" Please! Any help will be greatfully appreciated. Thank you and God bless. Happy holidays and I do accept any paper denomination or stimulants"

Those were the words that Larry The Jet held up on a cardboard sign in the first week of  November to commuters driving  the busy 605 freeway in Los Angels, almost getting hit on several occasions and has been,   in hopes to get a job or, even more pressing, a motel room to sleep in at night or a cheap bottle of wine.

Just 24 hours later after a video was posted of him exhibiting his voiceover talents to a passerby, who decided to put it on YouTube,Presidet Obama contacted the youtube passerby for The Jets contact.


The youtube filmmaker found The Jet two days later in an alley in Compton, a suburb near Los Angeles.

 Larry The Jet,  has already received numerous offers from prestigious companies like Walmart  . Salvation Army and numerous other big name companies offering The Jet jobs from night watchmen to cleaning toilets.

.He's been interviewed on various television shows and on Thursday, January 6 of 2012, he introduced NBC's Today Show, just half hour living on the streets

Jim Beam, and every maker of alcohol has contacted The Jet for endorsement and marketing deals as dental, shaving, breath, Hollywood movies and Broadcasting, and numerous others.

The Jet, as Larry Shapiro prefers to be known, has already made appearances on "The Early Show" and "Good Morning America" and is set to do a taping with "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell."

Most recently, he's been offered a job by Roger Ebert,who himself has had numerous surgeries  and of this writing, Ebert is still alive and in Las Vegas,.

"I can do any voice over and impersonatiion using my voice but only under being sedated, of which I prefer Vodka, Scotch, Yesca and anything that will alter my voice...Otherwise I cant perform",stated Larry The Jet.
