the first edition copy of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz was published in 1900 by Geo M. Hill Company. The original copies contained 24 color plates in addition to in-text illustration. There are two different printings (states) of text and plates and three different bindings ("A", "B" and "C"). "A" binding is identical to "B" binding with the exception that the name of the publisher at the bottom of the spine is printed in green color instead of a red color.
approximately only 2000 wonderful wizard of oz were printed in the B binding on the spine CO instead of the O inside the C, which is the C binding on the spine..
